If you’re looking for support on your healing journey that makes you feel seen in whatever you’re going through,

I’m the therapist who can help.

You don’t have to reach a breaking point before you deserve support.

Many of the clients I work with are the ones who “have it all together.” They’re the planners, the organizers, the caregivers, the ones who look out for everyone else. So when their mental health takes a dip, and it’s their turn to ask for help, they don’t feel comfortable.

I get it, because I’ve been the caregiver in my life and my career for a very long time. And I know what it’s like when you’re so close to reaching out for help, but that harsh little voice in your brain starts pushing back.

“You’re not that bad.”
“You’re selfish if you ask for help.”
“You’re not the one who gets support, you give support.”

But I also know what happens when you stay in that place for too long, when you keep pushing through, minimizing your feelings, and waiting for things to get “bad enough” to justify reaching out for support.

As a former hospice care nurse and someone who’s gone through tough seasons of life, I’ve learned the breaking point isn’t where change has to happen. It can begin much earlier, when you start to acknowledge your limitations, and ultimately realize that you don’t want to carry everything alone anymore.

WHAT I STAND FOR:

The values I’ve built my practice on:

Authenticity

Healing begins when you can show up as who you truly are. Around here, you never have to pretend, put on a brave face, or be anything other than who you are at your core. You be you, and I’ll be me.

Practicality

If you can’t realistically bring the tools from our sessions into your everyday life, then your healing journey can’t progress. Everything we work on together will be tailored to your life and considerate of the obligations & responsibilities you have outside my practice.

Restoration

If you're coming into my practice feeling exhausted, depleted, and like you have nothing left to give, The Haven is a place to begin again. My hope is to help you rediscover balance, create space to breathe, and build a life that feels more sustainable—one where rest isn't something you have to earn.

Dignity

You’re not a number or a dollar sign when you walk through my door. You’re a human being having a deeply human experience, and I’m humbled to help you through it.

WHERE MY STORY BEGAN

Before opening my therapy practice, I was a hospice nurse caring for individuals at the end of life and supporting their families through it all.

My years working alongside hospice patients and their loved ones changed me, and deeply shaped how I show up today for my therapy clients. The privilege of walking alongside people in their final days, and the sacred, often difficult moments that came with it, gave me a greater appreciation & respect for the human experience.

I know the pain and resilience people carry because I witnessed it every day throughout my 16+ years as a nurse. I've also experienced it in my own life, which has included seasons of hardship and growth. While my education and clinical experience provided the foundation to become a therapist, much of who I am has been shaped by caring for others as a nurse, a mother, and simply living life as another human being. Those experiences have taught me that everyone carries a story, and every person deserves to be met with compassion, curiosity, and understanding.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), my approach to your care is grounded, practical, and centered around your needs and goals. I’m there to listen without judgment and offer support that’s realistic to your life—but you can also count on me to be real with you. Because to help you truly move forward in your life, you need to feel understood, supported, yet gently challenged in ways that make an impact.

If that sounds like what you’re looking for in a therapist, either for yourself or for your child or teen, I’m here when you’re ready to reach out.

A Bit About Me

The beverage I’m bringing to work:

A simple hot cup of coffee (with a splash of heavy cream)!

What helps me stay grounded:

The things that keep me grounded aren't complicated. I feel my best when I'm exercising regularly, sticking to a routine, making time to recharge on my own (fellow introvert here!), and connecting with my family. Those simple rhythms help me stay present in both my personal life and my work.

What I want my clients to know about therapy:

No matter what you’re going through, therapy should feel like the place where you can finally stop holding it all in and be met exactly where you are.

Why I keep coming back to this work:

I grew up in a loving home and had a childhood that gave me a strong sense of belonging. I remain deeply grateful for the support I received growing up, knowing that this is not everyone's experience.

As a teenager and young adult, however, I found myself in relationships that were unhealthy and emotionally harmful. Hearing the words, "What happened to you is not your fault," became a turning point in my own healing. Those words helped me begin to release the shame I carried and the belief that something was wrong with me. They allowed me to see my story through a lens of compassion instead of blame.

That experience continues to shape the therapist I am today. It also shaped the vision behind The Haven. I wanted to create the kind of place I would have needed during those seasons of my own life—a place where people feel safe, deeply cared for, and never alone in what they're carrying.

My hope is to offer that same kind of space for others—a place where you can lay down the weight you've been carrying, and to remember that you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone.

What I do for fun:

I've discovered a love for strength training, and I'm always up for trying a new recipe on my Blackstone (I'm a total foodie!) I love coffee shops and will tend to find any reason I can to stop. I also love a great country music concert! One of my favorite side hobbies is raising Golden Retriever puppies. And this year, I'm challenging myself to learn a new string instrument—because I believe you're never too old to try something new.
